Over 40 Years Of Industry Expertise Fully Managed Specialist Vehicle Conversions Established Aftermarket Support & Service

Eggleston Steel

Eggleston Steel has been dealing with Mackworth for its customised lorry bodies for over 30 years. This year has seen significant steps within the transport industry relating to Driver Fall Protection which the Health and Safety Executive has as one of their many key areas for improvement.

Being Steel stockholders by trade, we have traditionally transported steel to our customers using our fleet of flatbed lorries which are bespoke to our particular needs and requirements. The new fall protection system along with the additional need for dropsides presented new hurdles to overcome. Hard to believe but the HSE requirements actually created other risks for our drivers working at height and lorry access and egress.

Having had a long understanding of how our industry works, Mackworth designed and overcame the unique operational needs our drivers encounter on a day to day basis. Their attention to detail, whether a driver retractable access ladder or a simple self-draining load strap storage tray has given Mackworth a national reputation for excellence.

Mackworth’s team of designers and fabricators have been on site for many years and their vast knowledge made them the perfect choice to produce our new design of bespoke vehicles at a competitive price.

Right from the onset Mackworth worked closely with us to produce a hardwearing and robust solution to meet our demanding modern transportation needs.

When Derby Fire & Rescue Service were considering replacing a number of service vehicles, we looked no further than Imperial Commercials and Mackworth Vehicle Conversion Specialists. They demonstrated their ability to meet the specific standards required of the fire service and were able to supply the new vehicles and carry out the vehicle conversion all from one site. Our vehicles are critical to Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service and Mackworth VCS provides the combination of well equipped facilities and dedicated professional staff. In these difficult economic times, competition is intense, and it is pleasing to evidence that Imperial Commercials can offer the balance of resilience, quality and overall cost, that is essential for an emergency service that public safety is so dependant on.

I look forward to working with Mackworth VCS on future conversion projects.

Mackworth VCS provided us with an excellent working product when they designed and built a tipper body for our aggregates business. We needed something lightweight and robust, with the knowledge and experience Mackworth VCS have they were able to provide us with both. Throughout the process we were kept up to date and involved in the build and the vehicle was delived on time. The quality of service, as well as the solutions they offered to meet our requirements has been invaluable.

As a commercial vehicle operator the most important factor in our decision to deal with Mackworth VCS and Imperial Commercials DAF was quality and cost of ownership. We needed a durable product that was going to be reliable and not let us down and this is precisely what was delivered. This is the first time we have dealt with Mackworth VCS and the process of purchasing a DAF Truck from Imperial Commercials, to having it converted on the same site was hassle free and gave us confidence in our decision making which was then duly backed up by the service we received.
